Born in Nigeria into a Yoruba-Ijaw family just prior to its relocation to Windhoek, Namibia, Bebe Ominira-Bluejack was raised and educated there, in Nigeria and, later, in South Africa. She has a mother, a brother and three cats that are loved greatly, and has been writing and performing since she was a child. A feminist of the womanist school, her subjects come in various forms, but surrealism, alienation and metafictionality often occur in her pieces - and her protagonists are usually female. A memorial poem that she wrote for the writer Stan Lee - Excelsior - won a Wattpad poetry prize in 2018.
