‘Louth’ were hospitable people. They welcomed us into their territory
without conditions. But I hate – I hated Lou white boys. White, because they were oft covered in ashes to wade off biting cow flies. I disliked Lou white boys because they sang bad songs about me:
Ayuup malony, (Uncircumcised marmot)
Kuat-weng jok (The cow breed dedicated to gods)
ace teem yol! (Its tail is never trimmed!)
Every time we met at the stream, Bol The Flat Nose, would hold his crashed
nose and the rest of the boys would make uncomfortable nasal hisses to
suggest that I was stinking! Bol composed the infamous song to compare me
:D to a large rodent called marmot. He said marmot’s thing was like mine,
covered in thick flesh, producing occasional white foul smelling blue band-like stuff.
