The Italian Embassy Abuja in conjunction with Culture Renaissance Initiative calls for its first collection of poetry from Nigeria.

A Poetry Competition /Anthology Project
THEME
“FRIENDSHIP between NIGERIA and ITALY”
The Objective is to harvest through cultural synergy the collective views of ITALY/NIGERIAN FRIENDSHIP and visions of creative minds within the Literati of Nigeria.
The Italian Embassy will be celebrating its National day on the 2nd of June 2009 and wishes to give out prizes to the best poems on that day.
Dead line for the submissions of poems will be on the 10th of MAY 2009
PROJECT AIMS
Exploring cultural diversity; leading to the synergizing of a process of integration and globalization through cultural fusion. Further promoting and strengthening cultural relations and understanding.
HOW
Creating opportunities for the Local and international promotion of creativity and talent; through culture exchange, international exhibitions, Art competitions, conferences etc
Its central Objective is to create and sustain channels for the expression of a Global Cultural Renaissance through cultural differentiations and integration which simply evolves human and universal civilization.
This project is organized by a team of specialized individuals spread across different fields of endeavor in Abuja.
CONDITIONS
• Every participant is expected to send in 2 poems, 1 of which could be selected for publishing
• Each poem must not exceed an A4 type paper.
• Each poet is expected to submit a 5 line bio-data attached to the poems. along with their personal email addresses, personal mobile phone numbers and passport size photographs [if applicable ]
• All writers must be at least 18 years of age
• Submissions should be in English language
• All submissions must be completed before the 10th of MAY 2009.
