CALL FOR SUBMISSION


ANA REVIEW


The ANA REVIEW is an annual journal of the Nigerian Writers guild dedicated to scholarly criticism, book reviews, essays, interviews, tributes, travelogues and creative writing. The time to package another edition of the ANA Review due for release before the 26th International Convention of the Association of Nigeria Authors (ANA) scheduled for Owerri, Imo State from 1st- 4th November, 2007, has come. Interested scholars and writers in and outside the country desirous of contributing to the ANA REVIEW should package their entries with the following guidelines in mind.

Ø For reasons of space, entries should be kept within a thousand words, only exceeding it when the author finds it inevitable. Even then, the maximum limit should be 2000 words.

Ø Editors of ANA REVIEW would be looking for lucid writings that command attention, thus authors are urged to send in their best, preferably ones that have had some prior editorial attention.

Ø As much as possible, authors should include visual (picture artwork or drawing) that complements their writing. Such file/s must be sent as email attachment/s in .jpeg format. This provision is obligatory for book reviews, which in addition, should include a picture of the book cover page, and vital statistics like number of pages, ISBN, publishers, year of publication, names of author, editor (for anthologies of journals), and reviewer.

Ø Authors should include full names, address, daytime phone and brief biography.

Ø Deadline for submission of entries for the ANA REVIEW is 30th of July 2007. Submission is strictly by email through the following address reviewana@yahoo.com.

ANA 2007 CONVENTION SUB-THEMES


Arrangements are on for the hosting of the 26th International Convention of the Association of Nigerian Authors (ANA) scheduled for Owerri, Imo State Nigeria from the 1st – 4th November, 2007 with the theme; Literature And Conflict Resolution. Prof. Kole Omotoso, a one time President of the Association, who is now based in South Africa , has accepted to present the keynote address. Meanwhile, abstracts are hereby invited from interested scholars who would like to present papers during the seminar session at the convention under any of the following sub themes:

Ø Literature and cross-cultural dialogue
Ø Literature and the advancement of world peace
Ø Children’s literature and the challenges of National Integration.
Ø Literature and globalization
Ø Literature, writers and the ICT revolution

Interested scholars should send their abstracts of not more than 200 words via email to the following address ananatsec@yahoo.com (http://us.f386.mail.yahoo.com/ym/Compose?To=ananatsec@yahoo.com) not later than 30th July, 2007.
